Property Description
Some of the restoration has begun on this beautiful stately mansion. It is still in need of a lot more renovating, but it was a beauty in its day and needs to be brought back to life. Interior photos coming soon!
Once stately Romanesque all-brick home is the Bristol McBride Mansion in Independence, Kansas. Originally built in 1874, this mansion was first constructed as a plain two-story square brick home for Norris Bennett Bristol. In 1902, oil millionaire Albert P. McBride purchased the mansion and transformed it into a Romanesque-style residence, adding an eye-catching tower and luxurious features.
Over the years, the mansion underwent several changes, including being converted into apartments in 1949 to house workers from the nearby Independence Army Airfield during World War II. In the late 1990s, the mansion was abandoned, but restoration efforts have been ongoing since 1999. It has been featured on many websites! Call us for details.
